Tanguero Hotel Boutique Antique

A beautiful boutique hotel in a fantastic central location, with most attractions within a short walk or easy taxi/subway ride. The rooms are spacious, with wonderfully comfortable large beds and a lovely bathroom and shower. 🛏️🚿 Breakfast was fairly average, but had enough variety to start the day. Overall, a very comfortable stay with everything you need for exploring Buenos Aires. ❤️

The hotel itself is beautiful and comfortable, but we unfortunately never felt completely at home here. As British travellers, we arrived with some caution because of the safety advice we had read. We normally rely on hotel staff for practical local advice, but some of the comments about going out after 3 PM actually made us more anxious rather than reassured. We were then offered an evening Tango package, which we politely declined as we had already planned our stay. Our biggest disappointment, however, was the hotel-arranged taxi pricing. We paid 27,000 pesos for a short daytime journey, while Uber was around 5,000–6,000 pesos. A later hotel-arranged pickup was quoted at 45,000 pesos, compared with roughly 5,000–6,000 pesos on Uber. After that, we unfortunately lost confidence in the hotel’s taxi service. Even our airport transfer after Iguazú was 57,000 pesos, whereas our pre-booked Uber back to the airport was only 29,000 pesos. We completely understand that hotel transfers can cost more than Uber, particularly for convenience and reassurance, but these differences felt excessive. Ironically, once we explored Buenos Aires ourselves, we discovered a vibrant and beautiful city with plenty to enjoy, including in the evening. We found Uber a safe and convenient way to get around. The hotel itself was lovely; it was the lack of trust created by the advice and especially the taxi pricing that affected our overall experience.

A beautifully presented property with so much to admire in its small size. The location is very near the Tienda Leon airport bus and we walked the short distance to the property. The staff were extremely graceful, and two gentlemen recommended two different restaurants close by which we found to provide us with memorable dinners.

Particularly the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality of Signor Rodolfo , the reception manager. He is so helpful and welcoming- as if it was a host welcoming us guests into his casa . All other staff were very nice too.

The place is charming, in an old school kind of way. Location is great for the center. Very close to Teatro Colon. Sauna is good, though hours are limited and you must book in advance. Breakfast is ok.

You have to always wait for someone to let you into the lobby. It felt very impractical and slightly intrusive, but i guess it's part of the old school way. Depending who you got at the door the person was also pleasant or merely there to read you the rules. Really felt more like a boarding school than a 4 star hotel level of service. Missed having some bottled or filtered water available, too. Bought it at the corner store instead.
