It has 4 private onsens (two hot outside ones and 2 warm inside ones), which you can use whenever no one else is using them. In my Japanese style room I found some traditional Japanese clothes to put on, a jug of hot water and a tea pot for making green tea (from bags). The mountain village location is very peaceful and the air is fresh. The little train station is just around the corner with regular trains up to Gora or down to the cities. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
As you have no kettle in your room, you have to go to the lobby to fetch hot water from an urn, but it's not far.

We spent excellent time here. The room was perfect, the view, the facilities, the atmosphere. Also, we enjoyed both onsens (indoors and outdoors) available at the ryokan. Outdoor one was the best, of course. There are cute yukatas too!
The location is a little bit far from main attractions, but it was actually good and not too touristy.
The staff members were very nice and helpful.
Overall, we were very happy that we found this accommodation, thank you very much for your hard work!
You can clearly hear your neighbours even if they are not shouting, which can be disturbing. But it is an expected thing for the traditional Japanese accommodation.

The small town of Ohiradai is peaceful and pretty. The hosts were kind and helpful and spoke good English. We enjoyed the outdoor private onsen and this was the highlight for all of us.
There is nowhere to get dinner nearby. There are two small izakayas in the town, but neither were open and the shop on the corner had very little to offer. The facilities are clean, but basic and the charging plugs in the room were very old and damaged so our chargers wouldn’t stay in. The futons were reasonably comfortable. Overall this was our most expensive accommodation for our trip and it didn’t seem like it quite stacked up for the price.
