Very nice and popular pub. Our room was very comfortable with a huge bed, armchair and basic but nice bathroom. Staff were very friendly and very efficient. Despite facing the road it was very quiet at night. Friendly atmosphere in the pub with many locals drinking and eating. Food was superb, with a nice menu beyond the normal pub classics. Beer was also excellent.

Lovely hotel, excellent location in a pretty village, interior decor was lovely and reflected the buildings character. Food exceptional, they catered for my gluten free diet as well. Room was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Bar was busy but service was slick. Staff all friendly and efficient. Breakfasts hearty and freshly cooked. Exceeded our expectations.
The only criticism we had was that we used the "directions" link in the Inn website which reverted to our usual Google Maps and this took us quite a few miles away from the Inn to near Seahouses, and had to drive 25 minutes back across the A1 to get there. Use the postcode not the website link!!
