Nature House

We stayed here for 2 nights to do the safari in Uduwalawe and what a hotel this is, its set just back from the main road and because of that is so quiet and peaceful The room was a nice size with everything you need, and a lovely view from the balcony over into the forest with lots of birds and other animals The rest of the hotel was extremely clean and tidy and the swimming pool was a lovely temperature! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, on our first day there we were slightly late to the elephant orphanage and the owner without asking told us to get into his own tuktuk and he took us there The food was some of the nicest food we have had in Sri Lanka, the first day we had the buffet which was incredible, every dish was perfectly cooked and on the second night we were disappointed as there wasn't enough people in the hotel that particular night to habe the buffet, although we did order from the menu and the food was equally as good with very generous portions as well The safari was easy to organise with the owner who has his own jeep so all we had to do on the day of the safari was wake up and go downstairs, everything else was organized for us, including breakfast in the park . We also walked around uduwalawe and spoke to alot of local people who were some of the friendliest people we spoke to on our whole trip, It's so easy to recommend this hotel, it's amazing value for money, extremely friendly staff, brilliant location and amazing food, if you are coming to uduwalawe just book this hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Nothing it's brilliant

The Nature House was a wonderful place for us to stay in Udawalawe. The owner couldn’t have been more friendly, going out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. The meals he and his wife prepared were delicious, made with love. We very much enjoyed our time there!

Excellent stay if you are wanting to go on Safari and see the Elephants in Udawalawe. Very friendly staff, exceptionally the owner - helped organise everything from the Safari and taxi onwards. Very clean room and lovely pool. Would highly recommend the evening meal they provide for a great price, it’s exceptional!
