where do we begin ? the hotel and the staff was the absolute very highlight of our trip to Greece .Everything at this remarkable hotel is complete perfection . Kostas takes his architecture expertise to a whole new level -from revamping and restoring and ingeniously installing several beautiful apartments and the main kitchen in his restored Maniot Tower with sensational grounds all so beautifully terraced to complement the period style. His lighting and furniture design is unbelievable. most of all his special and wonderful hospitality delighted us in every possible way . HIs complete commitment to his guests happiness is evident in every way . A large well thought out seasonal menu designed by his sifnos friend and restauranteur george (of omega 3 sifnos ) was excellent ! we only ate at the hotel the entire time it was superb and each night a special dessert was given to the guests as well . Kostas’ leisurely delicious Full breakfasts insured that we could hike and swim around all day before returning for spectacular sunset dining. His wine list was ingeniously aligned from top to bottom -from north to south -from mainland Greece to Crete and Every bottle was an adventure! His knowledge of wines was a delight to learn about and taste . Tainaron Blue is a true real treasure in the deep Mani and we were so grateful to Kostas (and his attentive staff) for the high level cultural immersion. the owner the staff the beautiful location the view the excellent food the fabulous infinity pool all so well designed with comfortable places to sit and relax . the sunset was the best all sunsets we’ve seen on our travels through greece ! thank you kind kostas truly a ten out of ten all the way ! love and gratitude erin and nathan

The property is stunning architecturally with the natural environment complementing. The host Kosta was so accommodating he anticipated every need . The staff were wonderful. We had breakfasts and dinners at the retreat which were exceptional. Overall the experience we had at Tainaron was one of the best we have had in all our years of traveling.

Our stay at Tainaron Blue Retreat was truly unforgettable. Tucked high above the Mani coastline in a beautifully restored 19th-century tower, the property feels like a hidden world of its own. It manages to preserve the character and history of the building while offering an incredible level of comfort and luxury. The setting is simply spectacular. The infinity plunge pool, perched right on the cliffside, was undoubtedly one of our favourite parts of the retreat, with breathtaking views across the endless blue of the sea. Our Tower Room was an experience in itself. Reaching it by climbing the winding stairs only added to the charm and made the room feel like our own little hideaway. Despite its unique character, it was surprisingly spacious and incredibly cosy, with a charming private balcony that quickly became our favourite spot for enjoying our morning coffee. Everything was immaculate, with the room being beautifully refreshed every day and a thoughtful evening turndown service each night. Coming back to find delicious chocolates waiting on the table was such a lovely touch. And the bathroom was something truly special — soaking in the bathtub while watching the sunset through the window. Breakfast was a beautifully presented feast, while the evening meals showcased modern interpretations of traditional Maniot cuisine. Every dish felt thoughtful, fresh and full of local character, and the quality was exceptional. What truly made our stay special, though, was the people. Kostas and his wonderful team have created something far beyond a boutique hotel. They have an incredible ability to anticipate what you need while still making everything feel effortless and personal. Their warmth, attention to detail and genuine passion for hospitality made us feel incredibly well cared for throughout our stay. Tainaron Blue Retreat is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave, so much so that I have already booked a stay for next year!

There is nothing not to like about Tainaron, it's perfection!

Das Tainaron Blue Retreat ist schon architektonisch etwas ganz Besonderes: Ein alter Wehrturm wurde mit unglaublich viel Gespür und Geschmack in ein außergewöhnliches kleines Hotel verwandelt. Nur vier Wohneinheiten, ein wunderschöner Infinity-Pool und verschiedene, sehr ästhetische Sitz- und Liegebereiche schaffen eine Atmosphäre, in der man sofort zur Ruhe kommt. Die Kombination aus historischen Elementen, hochwertigen Materialien und moderner, zurückhaltender Gestaltung ist wirklich beeindruckend – hier kommen Auge und Seele gleichermaßen zur Ruhe. Dazu kommt die fantastische Lage: Von der Anlage aus hat man einen atemberaubenden Blick über das Meer und die beeindruckende Küstenlinie der Mani. Gerade die Weite und die wilde Landschaft machen diesen Ort so besonders. Auch kulinarisch wurden wir jeden Tag aufs Neue begeistert. Das mehrgängige Frühstück variiert täglich und ist wunderbar auf regionale Produkte und Slow Food ausgerichtet. Auch die Möglichkeit, abends im Hotel zu essen, haben wir sehr gerne genutzt – eine schöne Auswahl, hervorragende Produkte und eine ausgesprochen feine Zubereitung. Und dann sind da die vielen kleinen Besonderheiten, die den Aufenthalt perfekt machen: Abends warteten Pralinen als Betthupferl auf uns, das Zimmer wurde noch einmal für die Nacht hergerichtet und Kostas gab uns wunderbare, ganz individuelle Tipps für Ausflüge und Restaurants. Kostas ist dabei ein perfekter Gastgeber: aufmerksam und präsent, wenn man ihn braucht, gleichzeitig aber angenehm diskret und nie aufdringlich. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und sehr persönlich umsorgt. Das Tainaron Blue Retreat ist für uns ein ganz besonderer Ort – stilvoll, authentisch, ruhig und voller Seele.
