Pyramisa Island Hotel Aswan

We had a really lovely stay at the Pyramisa Island Hotel in Aswan. The hotel is in a beautiful location on Isis Island, surrounded by the Nile, and it’s a real experience waking up to views of the river and seeing the ibis flying around on the land opposite. The two pools overlooking the Nile are also a fantastic feature. The shuttle boat into Aswan was very convenient, running every 30 minutes, on the hour and half-hour, so getting to and from the city was easy. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, but a special mention has to go to Christeen, our manager, who genuinely went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. She really made a difference to our experience. The bed was very soft, which we personally found extremely comfortable, although if you have back problems, it’s probably something to keep in mind. The hotel is a little dated compared with what you might expect from a modern 5-star resort, but I’d still say it feels like a 5-star experience by Egyptian standards, particularly because of the location, facilities and hospitality. For food, we personally found it better to head off the island and eat in Aswan. Breakfast at the hotel was definitely worth having, but we preferred the options outside for other meals. Overall, a great experience and somewhere I would happily recommend, especially if you want somewhere peaceful with beautiful Nile views while still being very close to central Aswan. The combination of the island setting, pools, boat shuttle and fantastic staff makes it a memorable place to stay.

Hotel is located on the Nile and offers great views of the Nile and both banks. How exotic to have to take a small boat to reach the hotel. Nice pool area. Breakfast was quite good. Staff were friendly and usually helpful!

Rooms are very dated and were not very clean. After finding a dead bug and several hairs we had to ask to change rooms. We were offered several rooms but all had hairs in the bedsheets. Staff were helpful and we were compensated with a free dinner.
