Hotel Bel Sito e Berlino

Hotel location ideal. Close to water bus dock and walkable from major sites of interest.

Whilst recognising Venice is a world heritage location we did find the tourist numbers a little excessive.

Hotel was old but beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic.

Shower wads small but we made do!

The hotel was located so close to the boat stop from the airport and we did not have to cart our luggage anywhere - and we saw a lot of people struggling with their luggage. The location was within a few minutes of St Mark’s square, in fact we stumbled into it on the first night by accident - a happy surprise. The staff were very friendly. We lost our key and they were so nice about it. The room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was lovely and they made fresh espressos or hot chocolates every morning with breakfast. They let us store our luggage after we checked out.

Great location and a small but nice breakfast. The hotel also has historical vibes (I like it, my wife doesn't). It's nice small hotel but...

There is one big minus and several small ones that are not very important. The main minus is the temperature in the room. We got a room with a non-working heating/air conditioner and an extra oil electric heater probably 20 years old... but it saved us from starring in Frozen 3: Way to Venice. The walls were ice-cold, and the bathroom temperature was around 15 at best. Maybe that's acceptable for a rented apartment in Italy, but not for a hotel in Venice. The outside temperature was around 0 to −2 at night. Small minuses: - One of the reception staff members was not friendly... A little mix with tiredness , age and passive aggressiveness in a polite way but still... (the other one was nice). - The way to the breakfast area goes through an open space, so if it's raining, you need an umbrella or may get wet. - Some mold, but I think it’s common in Venice.
