Villa Kale

We liked the peaceful location of Villa Kale. It's lovely and quiet up on a hill above the town. You need to be fairly fit to manage the steps leading up from the lake, but that's no problem if you have a car - and there's parking available at the property. We rented the double room with a separate living area (with TV, fridge and kettle) and bathroom. The suite is quite spacious and everything was in working order. Basic toiletries (shampoo and small soap cakes) are provided. Breakfast is not available, but there are plenty of cafes/restaurants close by. The city view from the living room is pleasant, with the castle on top of the hill and a glimpse of the lake. The bedroom looks out onto the parking space and the road at ground level. This particular suite doesn't have a balcony, but has access to a lovely garden area with table and chairs (though we didn't use it during our stay). The owner and his father are extremely welcoming and helpful and both speak good English.

The bed is softer than we're used to, therefore for us not so comfortable. My husband ended up sleeping on the couch, which is firmer than the bed mattress. The room includes sachets of instant coffee but, strangely, no teas, sugar or creamer. The standard of cleanliness is satisfactory, though I did find some long dark hairs (not ours!) on the floors, especially in the corners.

Ogromny pokój z balkonem i cudownym widokiem z każdej strony. Bardzo dogodna lokalizacja do zwiedzania starego miasta, do plażowania też całkiem nieźle. Na miejscu spora kuchnia, w której można wygodnie przygotować sobie coś do jedzenia, jeśli akurat nie ma się ochoty jeść na mieście. W pokoju naprawdę czysto. Gospodarz był wyjątkowo miły, ciepły i pomocny. Zamówił nam taksówkę powrotną na lotnisko i czekał z nami na nią o godzinie 5:30. Ogólnie - to był naprawdę udany pobyt.
