The location is great as it’s just on the edge of the town. You can walk into the edge to a beach and some great views, or drive 10 minutes the other way for a beach near Scot’s town.
Staff were great and friendly. We used the bar and restaurant and both we good.
It’s very dated, but is clean and tidy so that’s not an issue.
One of the main reasons we chose it was the swimming pool, but this was not included in the room cost and so we had to pay an extra charge for each of us.
A little bit of work would avoid it feeling so dated. Some updates to the pictures in the rooms, even cutting a roll of modern wallpaper and putting that into the frames, also update the light switches. Would really alter the feel.

3* is about right for the Waterside. All just a little bit old and tired especially the bathrooms. Saying that it was clean. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was good value.
It served its purpose for our stay.
Bathrooms need modernised.
