The staff were very friendly and helpful. We did have to pay extra for accommodation tax which was a bit of a surprise on arrival.

Although the traditional element of the ryokan was divine, the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable.

Our room was spacious, enough for three adults. The bathroom was large and spacious as well, and had good water pressure. However, the bidet toilet didn't always work properly, so that was a disappointment sometimes. The walls are a bit thin, and some of the other guests were a bit loud, but luckily they only stayed one night. Otherwise it was very quiet. The restaurants was wonderful, simple, yet great quality food. The staff was very kind and we were able to communicate pretty well with the use of Google Translate for a few things like baggage forwarding service. The little coffee shop in the parking lot is run by a sweet young woman who makes cute jewelry from sea glass and the coffee is great and so is the 'stick cake' which is like cheesecake if you're from the US.

The bidet toilet didn't always work correctly.

The place is quiet and calm. It is a little bit far outside from the city, but it is nice to take a relaxing break when you are having a long and busy travel. The suite was big and well tidied and cleaned. The suite with the view on the garden was a great choice. The staff members are adorable and make you feel welcome, they will make their best to communicate with you even if you don't speak japanese. The food (japanese style) was delicious, both the the dinner and breakfast were exquisite !
