Les Portes de la Vallee

Excellent hospitality. Location is good - quietly in the nice neighbourhood which is safe and pleasant and yet within short walking distance to bus and train station and to the historic city centre. With my limited English/French/German languages, the hosts communicated with me very good and taken good care of me. The food is a very surprised delight - I had tried (1) Choucroute Garnie (2) Flammekueche (3) Fleischschnacka (4) Munster Cheese (5) Kougelhopf - All very delicious and I can tell that they should be from very fresh ingrediants with excellent control of timing and temperature. What I like is that an opportunity to try something known e.g. sauerkraut but with a Alsacian flavour - a milder and softer yet very tasty and very fresh - thus feel healthy too.

Weinig tot geen uitleg van personeel. Ook niet dat er gegeten kon worden. Maar prima uitval basis voor Colmar

Los mosquitos!

L'accueil par la propriétaire très avenante et sympathique. Elle a accepté de nous faire dîner sans réservation préalable et le repas fut très bon. La chambre est grande et propre.

Style un petit peu vintage mais ce n'est pas grave ! Dommage par contre que la piscine ne soit pas plus facile d'accès. Fermeture à 19 h et pas d'ouverture le matin. Nous n'avons donc pas pu en profiter.
