Hotel Barbieri

I liked that is very close to the beach!! It’s literally 2 min walk to Bivona beach!! There is breakfast which was ok-ish, coffee was really nice. You can also have lunch or supper there, cooked by one of the owners, for which you pay. I didn’t have any other meal except for breakfast, but what they were offering was traditional calabrese dishes which I only suppose they were nice. There’s AC in every room and it was working as intended. I believe each room has a balcony, mine had one, which is handy. The cleaning lady was very nice and helpful! The owners were nice, too. I arrived really late, around midnight, and it was no problem with the check in, as they appear to be living at the property. There’s a lift, but you need to take it from first level and it doesn’t go up to the last floor. There’s a mini fridge in the room which was cooling very well, which was very useful. Rooms with own bathroom and hot water at all times, there’s a boiler in the bathroom. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. To me the main thing was to be close to the beach. This part of Bivona beach was not very busy, which I enjoyed very much.

The shower cubicle was small, really tight. The bed was not very comfortable, quite lumpy and uneven. The AC unit was quite old and it stopped working one day. It was fixed but only the next morning and I had to sleep there, at 26 degrees with no wind or draft, because I was not given any alternative. This hotel is just steps away from the beach, but it is far away from any amenities. I think the closest, about 10-15mins walk, is a bar, so having a car is really helpful. I was lucky I had friends taking me out to eat or to buy some food and drinks. I booked a room with sea view and I received a room with mountain and railway view. The trains passing by were not a problem as they were every hour or so and not very noisy. Anyway, the hotel doesn’t have a proper sea view, maybe from some rooms you can see a bit of the sea. Quite noisy area on the side of my room, which was the road and railway side, lots of kids driving bikes or scooters and shouting until late.

Bardzo przyjaźni, mili i pomocni gospodarze, miła atmosfera, gościnność na najwyższym poziomie. Hotel przy szerokiej piaszczystej plaży. W spokojnej okolicy. Słodkie śniadania i pyszna kawa. Można domówić kolację. Super.

Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno davvero piacevole. La struttura è carina, accogliente e soprattutto si trova in una posizione ottima, a soli 100 metri dal mare, comodissima per raggiungere la spiaggia a piedi. Una nota di merito va sicuramente al titolare, persona gentilissima, disponibile e molto attenta alle esigenze degli ospiti. Anche il personale è sempre cordiale e disponibile. Ci siamo trovati davvero bene e abbiamo apprezzato molto l’accoglienza e l’atmosfera familiare. Esperienza sicuramente positiva, consigliatissimo e ci torneremo volentieri!
