IZA Kamakura Guest House and Bar

I live in Sapporo, where summer is really short, so I decided to make this my base during Silver Week to enjoy one more week of summer vibes. It was a great choice, convenient for exploring different spots around Shonan and going surfing. The staff were welcoming, and the place was cozy and clean. I’d definitely stay again if I’m around Tokyo and want to squeeze in a quick surf trip.

A great place, really. I will stay this place for sure.

Great price for a last minute stay. Great location, close to the station. Accessible to most of the things you'll need in your stay in Kamakura. It's a close walk to the beach which offer amazing views.

I'm going to be honest - I ended up not staying upon seeing the place in person. As a solo female traveler, I was concerned with the locks on the doors of the rooms and bathrooms - most seemed like it was really easy to break in with enough force. Not all beds have curtain for privacy, so take note of that as well. Japan is a very safe place so it was probably nothing to worry about, but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep in that kind of set up so I left.
