The hotel itself is gorgeous
The staff on the desk were so/so but the staff who brought our breakfast in the morning were lovely. We arrived around 10pm after I had been discharged from the harley steet hospital after a leg surgery. I had booked and paid for a double room with a dog. I had made them aware of the fact we had a dog and this had been accepted on the messages on booking.com. upon arrival they seemed shocked we had a dog and then when we arrived at our room it was a twin room, not the double I had ordered. As you can imagine after a surgery I wanted to sleep next to my fiance not in a single bed on the otherside of the room. Also I had booked a double room so wanted what I paid ( a fair amount ) for. When I complained the staff said they had no double rooms and they said id left a note i wanted a twin room and thats why they made it up that way * a lie. They said were sending someone from housekeeping to make the room into a double. I didnt believe this could be done and when the poor lovely lady from housekeeping arrived she looked beside herself. It couldnt be done, proving that the room couldnt have possibly been made as a double, especially not on my apparent "request". I went down to reception and the manager again mentioned that the reason it was a twin was at my request. I proceeded to show him my message thread between me and the hotel, proving beyond doubt I had not requested this and also that the room itself was never a double and couldnt be made into one, so to stop lying. He proceeded to bang draws multiple times in front of me extremely passive agressively which after a surgery I just did not need. He then through gritted teeth upgraded us to a suite but didnt frame it as an upgrade. His exact words when he handed me the key was "this is a suite. This is someone elses room you are taking. When they come to check in now they will get your room....." he might have well said "I hope you are happy!!".

Location, Friendly Staff, Good Restaurant and sauna was a great plus.
Furniture in the room was a bit tattered/scratched. Gym wasn’t the best equipped.

I chose the hotel as the location is perfect. It is ideally located from Baker Street Station and has an entrance onto Chiltern Street, Marlybone. I would stay at the hotel again only because of the location.
The hotel is also very nicely curated and maintained.
I appreciated having Aircon in a London hotel room, it's not as common as one would think.
I arrived at the hotel as a stranger and left as a stranger, I stayed for six nights. No one in the hotel wears a name badge, the team are not interested in creating a connection with the guests. So it's all transactional... and to me, this is sad and such a missed opportunity. Especially in a big city like London.
At the same time, I cannot commend any staff for excellent service as they all anonymous.
I stayed in room 115 - it is noisy. You hear everything from the corridor.
I booked a Bed & Breakfast rate, every single morning I was asked for my room number. (usually by the same two people) One morning I went down and was told I had to wait for a table to become available as I was only one guest and they could not give me a four seater. There were two empty four seaters.
The actual quality of the breakfast is not great, next time I wouldn't pay for breakfast and rather go to a local restaurant. There are plenty in close proximity.
