Hatoya Hotel

The Hatoya Hotel is not for you if you want high end luxury accommodation, it is though if you want a place that gives you the basics like a comfortable bed, a really really good shower and really good WiFi, the room has a small fridge and decent bench space as well, a 5 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station which will take you anywhere you need to be in Tokyo inside 10 minutes, the couple that run the hotel are super friendly. I choose to get a fresh towel each day which was enough for me in terms of housekeeping , there is also a small laundromat directly outside the hotel which is handy.

It is a little noisy street wise but after a long day exploring Tokyo you will fall asleep pretty quick and won't even notice it after a couple of days.

Fantastic all around value in Ikebukuro: Comparatively large rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, communication was always great; everything clean and worked flawlessly - just excellent :)

The owners were super kind; they greeted me every morning and afternoon whenever I saw them. They offered to help with my luggage when I arrived and left. The hotel is in a very convenient location just on the opposite side of the station from Sunshine City, so I could get to everything I wanted to do and more every day with little walking. The coin laundry next door was also very convenient and allowed me to do my laundry in the early morning hours after a day of exploring. The room was the perfect size; I found it had a little more room than I anticipated compared to previous chain hotels in which I have stayed, so I never felt suffocated. If I ever decide to stay in the Ikebukuro area again, I would definitely choose to stay here.

Owners / staff were super friendly and fantastic! Very professional and welcoming! Check in was so smooth. Perfect location, you're right in the heart of Ikebukuro, walking distance to restaurants, shops, supermarket and etc... Room was fantastic, exactly what I needed, quite spacious for only myself! Nothing to complain! Highly recommend this place to a single person or a couple! Walking distance to the station, it's a nice walk. Also there's a laundry right downstairs!

Everything was perfect for me! Nothing to complain! Some people might not like to carry the suitcase upstairs, just be aware of it, but it's only 1 or 2 floors up. It wasn't a big deal for me. Great accommodation!
