Holiday Inn Express Kolkata Airport by IHG

1 km from the airport. Staff are very good. Good breakfast but slightly disappointed that they wouldn’t make a simple thing like a dosa despite my request.

Quite a small room. Ok for a short stay but not for longer stays.

Good location close to the airport. I was able to book a room once I arrived and after calling the hotel they sent over a car and driver to transfer me which all occurred pretty quickly. Check in was smooth and there was a good restaurant next door for dinner named the Palm. Our room was simple but adequate and quiet despite guests coming and going throughout the night. The staff work hard and always with a smile.

The furnishings are dated and worn, the grout in the bathroom could use a good bleaching.

I guess the room was quite clean and good shower and WiFi.

For around 4,000 rupees+, you would expect a free shuttle bus considering it's so close to the airport and we're otherwise likely to get scammed for 500 rupees by a taxi to go a few hundred metres. I think it's just not particularly good value for money. Hence, on my return trip I booked into a retiring room at the airport terminal for 1,500 rupees which was very reasonable and more comfortable than going outside the airport...only if you have an onward flight of course.
