Hekaya Zanzibar

One of the best places we've ever been. Not only because of the amazing area and the amazing views, but because of our stay at Hekaya. The staff is super friendly, from the waitresses to the gardener, and they are always professional and warm. The restaurant was pretty good, and we enjoyed all of our meals there. It's not a Michelin-star restaurant, but it meets expectations and won't disappoint. The hotel is not big, with only 5 rooms, and this makes everything better. You are not constantly meeting lots of people, so you have a feeling of privacy, almost as if you were in your own house in front of the beach, while still having all the services, such as the restaurant, that you would expect from a bigger hotel. The beach is very calm. The surroundings are beautiful, and Hekaya is particularly located in a sand area, ideally to take a swim (in some other parts, there are rocks which can be "annoying" on low tiles). There are some sellers trying to make a living, but they are far from being very annoying.

WiFi connection is kind of slow, but we must be aware of the infrastructure of this part of the island. Not an issue by any means.

The property is right at the beach. All rooms are ocean front. They only have 5 rooms and it is very intimate. The place is beautiful and well taken care of. Patricia was great and very helpful. Can wait to go back.

Loved the way the 5 room hotel was designed to give enough space to guests with a small curated garden, front beach chair area, bar and restaurant, ...small attention to detail hotel , Location of hotel was right in front of the beach
