Easkey Hostel

The hostel is very charming et functional, with a really good price. The bedroom was confortable and nicely decorated, the kitchen has a lot of equipment, and the patio is so so nice! I loved that the rabbit and the cat were just freely enjoying the place too, they were adorable. It’s also a 10 min walk to the beach, along the small river, which was amazing for a morning walk!

The bathroom is perfect but unfortunately the floor and mats were soaked. It’s normal since we were several people using it, but maybe a solution can be found. Maybe adding a curtain to the shower, or having several bathroom mats available so we can change it whenever the one on the floor is soaked :)

Easkey Hostel feels like a home rather than a hostel, there’s lots of themed details gone into the furnishings in the hostel and it’s quirky and cosy, you don’t get rushed out of the place at 10am for cleaning. It can accommodate 4 unrelated single travellers for bed space, plus two in a double bed. The hostel really suits a group of six travelling together and using the shared space of lounge, kitchen, bathroom and inner court yard area. Sleeping in the bunk bed rear room means walking across the outdoor pebbled inner court area during the night to use the loo/shower, so something on your feet is a must. It was my first time in this style of hostel and it was a pleasant surprise, smaller than I was expecting but very peaceful.

Walking across the pebbled inner outer court yard a few times throughout the night to use the loo and there was no direct access to the beach from the hostel, instead there is a path along the river Easkey that you can walk along. From the Booking.com photos I saw that the 4 bed bunk room had what I thought was an accessible sea view but it wasn’t.
