The Royal Victoria & Bull Hotel

The staff were very kind and helped me out when i had to cancel one of my nights at short notice. Its a beautiful.large hotel in a fantastic area,.right on the high street near to the railway station and castle..

Location was difficult to find, even with google map.

Difficult to access location

Positives: Location - 5 mins walk from the railway station and the opposite end of town from some of the rowdiest bars. Staff - very helpful especially Conner who went out of his way on a couple of occasions beyond expectations. Neutral: Facilities/Condition - Whilst the bed itself was comfortable, both the room (34) and internal corridors etc are very basically furnished and are in need of upgrading. Threadbare carpets. No aircon. Open a window or put on the fan for airflow. The bathroom consists of a weak shower and of the three halogen lights in the ceiling, only one worked. The shaving mirror light didn't work either. There are no breakfast options. I can't fault the staff or the location, but the overall impression is of a tired hotel that needs some TLC and fresh investment.

The staff were friendly. The room was spacious and a nice big bed.

. The deco over all was old and neglected had a sad feel about it, no fridge in the room. But again paint work poor curtains fall in off rail, last guests towels still in the room.
