Comfortable room with good facilities and large bed. Bathroom was lovely, warm and well equipped, with a walk in shower and plentiful towels and toiletries.
The atmosphere in the lovely bar/ restaurant was outstanding, as was the professionalism and warmth of its staff. Do not ignore the Specials Board which, when we were there, had lobster thermidor and venison on the menu. The food and wine list is very good indeed.
Breakfast, the next morning was excellent too, but the coffee was a little weak. Many thanks

The staff were helpful and allowed us to check in early, and the rooms and dining areas were thoughtfully refurbished
Our room was very small: for the cost we were expecting a larger room. It was quite cramped and the bathroom very small. If the heated towel rail had been required (we visited in summer) it would have been difficult to use the toilet without burning our leg. Plus no room for a toilet roll holder. The breakfast was mixed- the cooked English breakfast was very nice, the eggs Benedict less so as the bernaise sauce did not taste freshly made. There was no fresh fruit, very limited cereal selection and only one choice of coffee (cafetière). For the cost of the room with breakfast this was disappointing.
