The location was excellent for us to connect with family members. And the hotel staff was just so lovely,

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have found the breakfast less gracious this year.

After we complained about the lack of airconditioning in our room (a facility promised by the hotel on Booking: see below), the owner came down and offered us a room in another apartment owned by him across the street, which did have airco. Moreover, he allowed us to park our car in his private garage, also in walking distance. As he went out of his way to make up for our disappointment, he even offered us a free taxi to take us to his restaurant for dinner. We were treated politely by the other staff as well.

We had a bit of a rocky ride at Palazzo Giancola. This hotel promises airconditioning, but apparently the ownership took the decision to only switch it on during the summer months - and not in the first week of May, when we stayed in San Severo. As we came in, the temperature in the room was 27°C. After we complained, a solution was found (see above), but the situation cost us a lot of energy (and a bit of time as well). In the replacement room (which was really comfortable), we found chewing gum in one of the towels. Hotel not situated in the best of neighbourhoods.
