if you have kids this would be a great hotel, second floor has a large play area and drink bar for both kids and adults. large parks surround the hotel with a train tram ride.
if your on the second floor you can hear kids playing in the play are but not to bad

Lovely facilities with various amenity rooms (games, bar, play area, library, music, sake tasting). and excellent service, short walk access to JR, onsen had jacuzzi area as well,
Met other tourists in the beer room (free!). First Sat in had large craft market, Our balcony overlooked a school and well-used park.
Stayed 5 nites, but lived out of suitcase because no drawers. Not walkable distance to Gion, Kiyomizudera, etc. Limited dinner menu for dairy-free diet. Rooftop not accessible by elevator.

The hotel is very nice and clean, with a variety of services which make our stay even more comfortable. The staff were great and helpful. We wish that we could have spent more time in the hotel.
It would be great if the hours for the coffee/drink services could extend a bit later.

Near park which was great for kids and also near train station. Easy walk into Kyoto station
Additional usage fee for children; activities in the hotel (eg games room) closed during day which was not great; regimented breakfast time slots and poor quality breakfast buffet options
