The Gate Boutique Hotel Zürich

This is a review for my husband’s stay. He was very happy!

Everything great

Beautiful small hotel, very well appointed and clean. Extremely convenient to the airport with 2 bus lines running almost every 5 minutes from a bus stop 2-3 blocks away. Breakfast was wonderful with a very good variety of items to please every taste, with scrambled eggs and bacon in addition to a good European breakfast assortment with warm croissants and rolls, variety of cold cuts and cheese, veggies, hard boiled eggs, cereal/muesli, yogurt with toppings, fruits, butter/jam/nutella/honey, variety of good coffee selections on demand from a machine, juices, milk and oat milk. Valentina is in charge of breakfast and she takes a lot of pride delivering a good breakfast. Thank you, Valentina! I enjoyed our little conversation.

I am surprised that this place does not have a higher rating score on Booking. It definitely deserves higher. People complain about noise from the planes. My room (106) was at the front of the hotel; I slept with closed windows and only heard some cars passing by while I was awake, but not loud enough to wake me up.

There was a moldy smell coming from the bathroom. Other than the mold smell everything was clean

We would have liked a box tissues in the room.

Place was good and clean, but the breakfast was poor, too little food for all the guests, there were no bacon and eggs for us, eventually when they brought more eggs, the guests closer to the table rushed to get to it first and our table had again no eggs, only one litre juice for all the guests. Although it has a lively kitchen, there were not a single cup, glass, kettle, knife or fork.

The breakfast and the fact that there were no kitchen utensils.
