The Rookery

Everything! We stayed with our 6-year-old and we all loved it! There was nothing the hosts could have done toake us more comfortable. I have a gluten allergy and was looked after very well during breakfast. They even have a gluten free toaster! They also showed me that they understood my allergy. Really lovely clean bright room and immaculate en-suite. Plenty of electrical sockets in convenient places eg for hairdryer near a mirror and for charging phone etc overnight. Friendly, efficient, cheerful and extremely helpful host. Very nice breakfast with lots of choice.

Access to the beach and town centre was easy but I didn’t realise until we got there that it would be a long walk for my husband who has mobility issues. However taxis were plentiful and cheap

Reasonable location but Swanage isn't especially large so you'd find it hard to be far from anywhere and you probably drove to get there. Parked up the hill because there are more rooms than spaces. I could see the sea from my room.

Baked beans on all days were cold as was the toast on the day that I had it. I had asked for an egg to be flipped and wasn't quite sure it had but despite having put in my order the night before as requested due to the length of time it took to get served I had to leave it anyway. The bed was short - beware if you're over 6'and the top of the shower was also a little low but I managed to avoid getting the floor wet. Quite high up so the wifi signal was poor (but adequate - no obvious booster available). Otherwise the place was ok and served my purposes although there were three of us waiting outside to be let in for a few minutes when we wanted to book in.
