Loved the location, very convenient to Ben Nevis, Nevis range, Jacobite train. The apartment was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with amenities we needed. The views from the apartment were magnificent. We enjoyed wine and cheese out front and some beautiful sunsets.

The Wi-Fi internet service was abysmally slow.

Nothing I did not like

The location of the flat is very beautiful! The host was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. As we arrived in Fort William before our check-in time and could not find any locker facilities at the train station, we were struggling to get around with our large luggage. We approached the host and asked whether we could leave our luggage at the property while they were busy preparing the flat. They kindly allowed us to do so, which was extremely helpful and much appreciated. On another occasion, we needed a taxi early in the morning, but several taxi services turned us down. We then asked the host if they could help us find a taxi, and they kindly assisted us in arranging one. We really appreciated their willingness to help and their friendly attitude. We also appreciated the fresh milk in the refrigerator and the good selection of tea and coffee available at the flat. There were plenty of utensils and sufficient cooking equipment, which meant we had everything we needed to prepare our own meals comfortably during our stay. We also loved the thoughtful welcome package. I particularly enjoyed the mini bottle of wine, which was excellent and very enjoyable, while my child loved the chocolate muffins. These were lovely touches that made us feel welcome when we arrived.

We stayed in a ground-floor flat, but unfortunately, the residents living above us created a considerable amount of noise late at night and early in the morning. This caused significant disruption to our sleep on almost every night of our five-night stay. The location was also quite inconvenient, particularly for a longer stay. There were no grocery shops within easy walking distance, and there was no bus service from the accommodation to Fort William town centre. In addition, food and grocery delivery services like Uber Eats or Deliveroo are not available in Fort William. As a result, whenever we needed to buy groceries or anything for cooking and eating, we had to rely on taxis. This added considerably to our expenses and made the holiday more costly than we had anticipated. The weather also had a significant negative impact on our trip to Fort William. We had expected August to be a good time for an enjoyable and scenic holiday, but unfortunately, we experienced continuous rain from the day we arrived. We later learned that Fort William is known for having frequent rainfall and that May is generally one of the drier months, which we were not aware of when planning our trip. I appreciate that some of these issues might be less significant for guests staying for a shorter period. However, as we stayed for five nights, the lack of nearby amenities, limited transport options, repeated noise, and poor weather had a cumulative effect on our overall experience. Overall, these factors made our stay less enjoyable and considerably more expensive than we had anticipated. I hope this feedback is helpful for future guests and for the host when considering how to improve the experience for longer stays.
