The location was great! The photos were very accurate and did not exagerate the size of the place. Plenty of room for the 4 of us with very easy walking access to everything. Very quiet in the evenings. We appreciated the fans provided as outdoor temperatures were high during part of our stay.

It was a perfect location for walking into York, yet tucked away on a lovely quiet street. It was a peaceful location and we were very impressed with the house.

An adorable home base for exploring York. Location is walkable from both the train station and historic centre. Self-checkin was smooth. The cottage is charmingly outfitted with vintage flair. The heating was a little wonky but we figured it out after a couple of days. Stairs are steep but manageable. The neighbourhood is delightful. Be sure to check out the 11th-century church just steps away. And the historic Ackhorne pub just around the corner. Victoria Cottage would be especially lovely for a winter stay. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
