Great value relaxed hotel in the perfect location to embark on my hiking and swimming break in the Lake District.

The location was fantastic. Food was great, pub and atmosphere was really great. It was the perfect base for hiking scafell pike.
Shower was lovely and powerful
The heating wasn’t working in the room, though I was given a portable heater. Rooms are tired but comfortable. Hot water in the tab was scorching, so unusable as the cold didn’t work.

breakfast and dinner were excellent as was the beer. The staff were helpful and friendly with a nice atmosphere in the bar made it a very enjoyable stay - I'd be in there every night if I was a local.
Room was dated but spotlessly clean, everthing worked and the bed felt like it had a good quality mattress and bedding so being a bit picky but fair I think.
