Hotel Excelsior Splendide

You couldn’t get a better location. Staff was lovely. The room was great. The buffet breakfast again, we’re just for you required and I definitely recommend it

There was nothing to dislike

Lokalizacja nad samym Jeziorem Como, tuż przy przystani promowej. Bezproblemowe zameldowania. Smaczne i bogate w różnorodność śniadanie.

Brak w pokoju wody i lodówki, co przy upałach powyżej 33 stopni nie było komfortowe. Hotel tylko z zewnątrz wygląda ekskluzywnie, w środku to archaiczny hotelik wymagający remontu.

The location was amazing. The views spectacular! Right in the middle of everything.

The bedspread and drapes were dated. White duvets would make the room look so much nicer.

The location of this hotel is perfect and the very friendly staff were the best things about our 7 day stay here . I have listed a lot of its faults so if they’re not included in my review don’t be fooled as there are plenty . A bit more thought and attention from its management could alter my opinion . Maintenance issues could be dealt with . Breakfast choices altered slightly daily Comfortable pillows ( all 4 of us suffered with bad necks) A bit more cleaning in corridors ( bedrooms were cleaned daily )

Pillows and mattresses uncomfortable but the room was large with a side lake view which was great . Paper cups for the tea and coffee machine in the room were poor as they collapsed on putting in hot water which was quite dangerous . Mugs would have been much better and less costly you’d assume . The safety deposit box wasn’t working on arrival and on telling staff it was 24 hours before it was semi fixed ( bodged in order that we could use it). No English Chanel’s on TV at all (not even the news Chanel)so don’t be fooled by the advertising of tv in the room as you can’t watch it . Internet was very good however . Breakfast was very repetitive as we stayed for 7 days…...scrambled egg , bacon and beans daily .Apples , oranges and kiwi were the only fruit choices daily ,same 2 choices of croissants daily etc etc . The rooms are cleaned daily but end of season meant the corridors etc were lacking attention . We traveled 24/09/26 and after 2 days they closed the pool for the winter ( temp was 21 degrees so no swimming after then even though it’s advertised as having a small pool ) so you can’t use it . The staff however were absolutely fab . Very friendly and helpful ,all English speaking . Would I go back to this hotel ? It would have to be a lot cheaper than I paid .I think I’d pay a bit more and opt for a 4 star as this beautifully old Italian hotel needs a bit of refurbishment to bring it up to standard .
