We own a gîte, the Maison d'Odette, in Saint Georges de Mons in the Puy de Dôme Department. We have always been born in Saint Georges de Mons and come from a family known for decades (Peyrot family, Chomilier Giraud). We inherited the family house, a village house in the Combrailles. Our cottage is ideally located, close to all motorways only 10 km away, our accommodation has a capacity of 5 people maximum 6. In 2019 we became, with my brother, owners of our parents' house. After much reflection, we decided to keep this property, and to open it to tourists, in order to revive it and perpetuate the family history. There are so many things that are closing in our town. We are lucky to be quite far from the hustle and bustle of the cities. The nature, the calm, the greenery, the woods and the stone of our region, give a relaxing setting to our cottage, with many leisure activities accessible to all. It was in 2019 that the work on the house was undertaken, in 2020 during the confinement we worked to completely renovate the house. Our cottage opened in December 2020. In March 2021 we had the classification of Meublé de Tourisme two stars, which allows us to accept holiday vouchers, and to offer our guests quality services. The various feedbacks and positive opinions of our guests on our booking platforms, prove that we were right about our project. In 2021 we recorded 384 overnight stays and more than 424 in 2022 Our tourist accommodation has made it possible to revive a house and bring life. Indeed, to receive holidaymakers, to discover them and to make them feel comfortable and that they like this place, is really a pleasure.
