Hotel Francisco II

Comfortable for an overnight stop and close to the old city. Good breakfast.

It's a long steep hill up from the station.

Personel was kindly and helpful. Location was good.

Parking was narrow to drive in and spaces were narrow too.

The hotel appears quite nice.

The room smelled. It was a strong musty odor as if a carpet had gotten wet and then stuck in a ball in a corner and left to dry. I slept the first night with the windows open, hoping it would be better in the morning. It wasn’t. I complained in the morning and thought I was told someone would come up to look into it, so I went back up to the room and waited 45 minutes. I went back to the lobby and thought the man at the front desk said someone would come up to spray. When I got back later in the evening, the room still smelled bad and I didn’t smell any sort of air freshener, so I doubt anyone did anything. Another night of both windows open. In the morning, I asked if someone had used air freshener, but my interaction foundered on language problems and I don’t know if anything had been done or not. I could have asked for another room, but I thought the wide open windows would get rid of the smell. The smell seemed to come and go and was in both the bedroom and bathroom.
