*Note: The listed price includes 5 bedrooms, but for an additional fee, 3 additional bedrooms in another building can be included. (The building is only 60 meters away.)
The castle is situated on a plot of land on the beautiful Lake Vindommen and is surrounded by water on both sides. The property is a 2-hour and 45-minute drive from Stockholm (240 km). Hägerstads Castle is a scenic location on a hill that offers sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and the lake. The surrounding area is home to a rich variety of plant and animal life, and if you enjoy fishing, the lake is teeming with pike, perch, zander, and bream.
The total area is currently about 11 ha, roughly half of which consists of the nature reserve and the oak garden. The Nature Reserve contains several Viking graves as well as the graves of the founders.
Hägerstad Castle will be available for vacation rentals starting May 1, 2019

The indoor area currently available is approximately 350 m² in the castle
. On the entrance floor, there is a grand entrance hall with a large fireplace, 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with an extra-large stove, a large dining room that seats 16 people, a music room with a large-screen TV and a grand piano, and antique furniture. All living areas feature large wall paintings that add character to each room.
The lower and entrance floors are open to the public, but the other floors are not yet completed; no work will be performed during your stay.
The lower level features two bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and 1-meter-thick walls, two restrooms, a laundry room, a spa room with a sauna and double showers, and a family media room equipped with a 4K cinema projector.
