This is a unique place to stay with an excellent restaurant and very few rooms. It is one of the most remote places one can stay in Switzerland despite being on the Centovalli train line directly on the border with Italy in the middle of Ticino. We had a marvelous traditional dinner featuring seasonal game and polenta. We had to leave early the next day so the staff prepared our breakfast ahead of time and it was waiting for us in the morning.
Access is a bit difficult from the train station because of the topography - about a 600m uphill slog along the roadway - and traffic from 17:00 to 18:00 at the end of the workday is surprisingly thick and fast. Dashing from the inn across the road to the wonderful terrace at aperitivo time can be treacherous, but the staff seem to be used to it. Stay put for another drink until the traffic lets up and enjoy the view of the sun on the mountains.

Als Wiederholungstäter komme ich immer wieder gerne an diesem besonderen Ort. Die tolle Gastfreundschaft, der herzliche Service und das tolle Personal. Dazu eine unglaubliche Umgebung mit tollen Wanderrouten direkt vor der Haustür. Ein leckeres Frühstück am Morgen um bestens gestärkt in den Tag zu starten. Die wechselnden lokalen Gerichte auf der Karte ein Gedicht. Ein Ort ganz gemacht um die Seele baumeln zu lassen.

The room was large and clean. Personal was friendly.
The osteria is situated at a highly frequented road. So it is never quiet there. In fact you have the feeling that all the vehicles are going through your room at high speed.
Breakfast felt a little italian - a piece of chocolate cake an a banana.
