B&B Royal Liberty

The bed and breakfast is conveniently located for bikers following the Elba trail. It was near the trail and also near the train station, river locks, and the castle overlooking the river. We walked to a grocery store and restaurant on the river, but there are also snacks and drinks to purchase in the inn. Our room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean. It was a treat after a long day of riding. The breakfast the next morning was excellent with fresh fruits, yogurts, meats, cheeses, pastries, cereal, boiled eggs, juices and coffee. Plenty of energy for the day’s ride. Bike storage space was also right inside the building. The whole stay was well set up for bikers.

We followed along the river until we were south of the bed and breakfast and then rode under the tracks and up the hill to the location. The hill was very steep. There is probably a better approach from the north that can avoid the climb.

We really appreciated being able to get early check-in and the great facilities for secure bicycle parking. The room was delightful & spacious, with a large window creating the impression of an even larger space. The breakfast was really nice, with good options provided by the hosts themselves. It was in easy walking distance of the castle, and was quiet despite being only a traffic roundabout. We had a very pleasant stay

Mattresses are a personal thing. One of us found the mattress comfortable, but the other one of us thought it much too soft.

I asked for breakfast to be slightly earlier than 0800 and this was arranged for me

Bathroom, whilst private, was not en suite
