Hotel Rústico Finisterrae

This is really nice small hotel which is full of interesting pictures, antiques and interesting furnishings. Our room was very spacious and as well as having the usual furniture, it also had comfortable lounge chairs to look out of the large window over the garden and to the ocean. The garden is well maintained with lots of Bonsai trees and a sun bathing area with a nice little swimming pool. The staff were very helpful and friendly and they have their own bar restaurant. Although it is a little difficult to drive up to, the hotel has a good sized car park.

We don't know the reason, but it seemed the owner took an instant dislike to us. Once we checked in, over the two days / night we were there he didn't even acknowledge our existence. We thought it was odd, but looking at the reviews, the owner does not get many good reviews. It is a good job the staff compensate for him.

The location is superb, with amazing views. The hotel is charming, a rustic interior, beautiful gardens with spacious areas to relax. Also a pool, though i did not use it.. Breakfast was lovely, a great variety of fresh food. Dinner on one evening was quite good.

Situated on a steep hill which might be challenging for some walkers/cyclists.. Unfortunately, the chef was ill on my second night, so no dinner, or alternative offered, snacks etc. As mentioned the hill was quite steep so I did not wish to walk back to the town centre.

Cute hotel at the top of the hill in Finisterra. The hotel is located near a 600-meter path to a gorgeous beach (Mar de Fora). At night, the hotel is quiet, and the employees are welcoming.

Sometimes it felt as if we were guests at somebody's home and we were on their way. The long set of rules can be a bit daunting once you arrive, but overall it is a nice place.

It had a pretty garden and pool.

This is not a good option for walking the Camino because it’s at least 1km further up a steep hill - not great after walking all morning. in addition there are zero onsite food options, and I mean zero. There is not even a welcome drink of water offered. there is a bar for water, but it only opens at 4.30pm. For dinner you have to walk back into town and up the hill again. Finally, I arrived at 1.30 but was told I had to wait till 3pm to check in - even though there were no other guests about at all. Disappointing experience overall and I’d advise Camino walkers to book elsewhere.
