Best barn conversion we have stayed in. Photos on Bolt Hole Retreats web site do not do the barn justice. There is a definite WOW when you walk through the door. The barn has everything you need for a relaxing family holiday, even the things you didn't know you needed. The view from any upstairs window over the fields is fantastic. There are 2 local pubs within walking distance, The Fish at Wixford and the Tavern at Broom. Both highly recommended, especially as two of our party have Coeliac Disease. Wayne & Will came to our rescue with an internet problem, which was quickly sorted out. Internet is over 4G link so speed is limited. The decking around around the hot tub is in need of repair which is being planned, this didn't cause us any issues. The hot tub is fully sunken into the deck which can make it a bit difficult for some people to get in and out of. The official route to the barn is down a farm track, which is uneven and pot holed with large sharp stones, so leave the sports cars behind. To be fair there is a sign saying the road is a farm track but we don't think anything was mentioned beforehand. (ask Wayne about the alternative route past the castle). There is plenty of useful information on Bolt Hole Retreat web site, thankfully we had downloaded this to a device before leaving home as there in not much information in the on site welcome pack. The information in the on site pack is in need of review and updating. Some of the information is out of date, for example a local pub having been closed for quite some time, whilst some is just wrong, for example the Sonos system doesn't work with the TV any more and you need a Sonos account to make it work. All in all we had a fantastic relaxing family holiday.

We had a wonderful long weekend break at lower lodge barn. A stunning location and beautiful property. Great for day trips to Stratford upon Avon and Warwick. Friendly and very helpful hosts- thank you!

A perfect place to unwind and relax, set in stunning countryside. The property is beautifully appointed and has all the facilities you need. The expansive view can be enjoyed from throughout the house and garden. It is a brilliant base to explore so many places from by car or on foot, then a haven to return to after a busy day. We’ll definitely make a return visit.

We were two families who come together every February for our hot tub holiday and this did not disappoint! The sunken hot tub was new to us and actually helped keep the wind off you! It was well maintained and looked after throughout our week stay which is excellent. The house was big enough for all of us with a few little niggles which I’ve informed them about! Generally clean throughout and the beds comfy! You could walk to the local town but it is a little bit of a walk - we did it a couple of times and enjoyed it! The drive to the house is long and bumpy and hard to navigate first time in the dark but we managed it! Overall a great place to stay!
