On noisy road. Not the cosy gastro pub indicated by the website. Large quite noisy dining room. Dinner only quite good (tough Guinea fowl, over cooked cod) but was fit for purpose. Good gravy.

The restaurant is fabulous, both for evening meal and breakfast. Excellent food, tasty and well presented.

Having paid a decent amount of money for a better than average room (King size) in what is essentially a pub, we were very disappointed to be put in a room facing directly on to a main road with traffic thundering past at all times of day and night. We had to have windows open as the room was very warm so that didn’t help. There is no sound proofing as the inn has old single-pane windows which I imagine cannot be tampered with. I had requested before the visit to have a quiet room and was advised on arrival that they were fully booked and we couldn’t be moved. We therefore had a poor nights sleep, which was such a shame as the restaurant was so good.
