Breakfast, at an additional cost, was very good; the hotel tastefully renovated recently; its morning reception staff was charming and helpful; and its proximity to the old town were all excellent qualities.

Due to very warm weather in late September'26 and lack of air conditioning which was mentioned in the hotel's marketing, and thus not unexpected, it was unfortunately impossible to sleep with the windows open. We were given a room street-side, with no possibility to change as they were fully booked. Because of the hotel's proximity to the old town, it meant people were going to and from the bars and restaurants, walking right in front of the hotel, below our room, well into the early hours of the morning. And, then, around 6:00 am, the rubbish collectors began their rounds, talking loudly to one another while they worked. There was a constant cacophony of noise throughout the night and early morning but when we closed the windows, the room was insufferably hot. Although the hotel was tastefully renovated 3-4 years ago, the reception advised it had not been possible to install air conditioning during the renovation due to the building's age and designation as part of national heritage, despite a rather nondescript facade. The cost may have been another deterrent. We were surprised there was no staff after 8 pm, although the entrance instructions were clear and hassle free. However, if we had needed anything, we'd need to wait until the morning to speak with reception. The hotel has very much a 'laissez-faire' approach.

With the window open (no air conditioning) there was regular shouting from the street nearby as people let the vars- -all through the night

Amazing deco, very comfortable, really good quality of furniture and bed. Best bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel. Great details in the room that made the experience very special. And the location cannot be better, we loved the restaurants around the hotel!
