BUDDA HOME

We chose Budda Home purely to stay in the "Uruguay" room, which is the only unit in the complex that overlooks the river. The large outside patio does indeed have an awesome view over the river (with a couple of roofs in front), and is super spacious and equipped well with patio seating. The unit itself didn't quite live up to what we were expecting, with no living area, a small kitchenette only, and a dining table. The one and only TV was in the bedroom, meaning you had to be sitting on the bed if you wanted to watch anything. The A/C unit was also located in the bedroom, but was large enough that it cooled the whole unit, which was needed. Budda Home is located right in the middle of the small village, so occasionally you will get a bit of noise from the nearby restaurant, but it was never enough to keep us up, or wake us up. The convenience of the location was wonderful - a short walk would take you anywhere in town.

There was a lack of extras in the unit; eg, no shampoo, conditioner, or even soap for the shower. No filters for the coffee maker.

Very simple but comfortable and in a nice location.

No washing machine.

Paula and team were extremely friendly, welcoming and also helpful in arranging wikdlife tours and boat taxis to the airport. Very spacious room. Very nicely and stylishly decorated. The tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and even a toaster were a really nice touch.being a remote island the Internet connection was sporadic and after one big storm all the power was out - this also effected the shower as it depended on a pump. But being in such a remote unique place you have to expect that kind of thing. The food and drink at the budda cafe was delicious and the river vew was beautiful..

The loss of Internet and power was a little frustrating but not really in the control of the owners.

Good location and kind host.

The room we booked smelled very badly of dampness or mold, one air conditioning did not work and there was a huge gap between the photos and reality. The host offered a different room but it meant we had to split up and the other room was smaller and not what we expected when we booked the property.
