Hotel Kristall

We had a wonderful stay at this very nice, family-run hotel. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive and always ready to help. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Our room was renovated and had plenty of space. The bed was very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the food and drinks (half board). Everything was tasty and well prepared. We especially liked that at breakfast you could order coffee and have your eggs prepared just the way you like them — a small detail, but it made breakfast feel very special. The location is great: within walking distance of the village, while Bruneck, Kronplatz and other surrounding attractions are just a short drive away.

Some parts of the hotel, especially the basement area, feel a little old-fashioned and could benefit from some renovation. However, this did not take away from the overall positive experience.

Covered parking garage, nice rooms, good breakfast. Great possibility of afternoon snack.

There were four different Wi-Fi networks available, and not a single one worked properly – either no connection at all or extremely slow. The staff do not speak English at all. Only one lady had very basic knowledge, but she was very brief and shy, so we were not informed about anything regarding the accommodation (e.g. possibility of an afternoon snack, ski storage, etc.). The wellness area in the basement is in need of renovation – dusty, no instructions provided, some guests in towels, some completely naked, no sheets available for the sauna, overall chaotic atmosphere. Hot tea was served in plastic cups. In the passage from the garage to the reception stairs, there were always one or two ladies sitting and smoking in the enclosed space that we had to walk through. First day evening, I went to the reception to ask about the possibility of any food, and I was dismissed with the phrase “no eat, no restaurant,” so we had to look outside the hotel. On our first breakfast, we were moved without any explanation to a different table two rooms away. Tables are not labeled and we were not given any instructions.
