Syros Soul Luxury Suites

We stayed in the Penthouse Suite with the large terrace. Loved the view from straight across the main square to the town hall on one side and a view over the roof tops to the port from the windows on the other side of our room. The room was one of the smaller ones but it was perfectly adequate for us. The terrace on the other hand was superb. The location in the centre of Ermoupoli was ideal. The bed was super comfy and the hotel provided bottled water everyday which was a plus. The staff were very kind and even let us check in after midnight when our ferry was delayed.

We did know before we booked, but fellow travellers should be aware that the price of having a wonderful view meant climbing 3 wooden spiral staircases as there is no lift. Not a problem if you are physically able but a challenge with heavy luggage.

This is a lovely small hotel located in the heart of Ermoupolis, on the main square. To our delight, we were upgraded to a superb, spacious, light-filled corner room with views of the sea, the square and the town hall and with 2 balconies, including one with a small table and 2 chairs. The room had a couch and armchair, as well as a really comfortable, large double bed. Well-located power points for charging. There was a dressing room with plenty of room for 2 people’s luggage. Free bottles of water. Very nice bathroom with good water pressure and proper hot water. Thick bath and beach towels plus robes provided. Being centrally located, there was of course some noise from the street but the sound proofing was excellent, so only the lightest of sleepers would have an issue. The air conditioning was very quiet too. Breakfast was in the pleasant cafe right next door, where from 8.15am you choose from a pretty good range of breakfast options. Espresso included. And most appreciated, the lovely woman on reception carried my very heavy suitcase up the stairs without me asking!

Hardly worth mentioning but the shower door didn’t quite close so the water spread a little in the bathroom.

Location was excellent Close to port, shops and restaurant. Spacious beautifully decorated rooms. Staff was excellent. Room makeup everyday. Plenty of towels. Coffee and tea in room. Wonderful breakfast.
