The Great Wall Box House - Beijing

Amazing, cozy little guesthouse right underneath the Great Wall, with a mother-like host in Xiao Wei. She prepared large vegetarian dinners every night and gave detailed advice and instructions for hiking along the Great Wall. There were 3 (maybe 4?) furry friendly cats, who will happily sleep with you, if you want 😅 Social setting, where you can easily meet other travelers Highly, highly recommend!

The best experience I've had travelling. The host Xiaowei was very accommodating and helped arrange a taxi pick up from and to the train station as well as from Jinshanling. Everyone staying at the accommodation does the hike Gubeikou to Jinshanling. The accommodation is very quiet and comfortable and the host Xiaowei makes a fantastic dinner, so you don't need to worry about being hungry. There are also 3 lovely cats running around the house. There were two showers and three toilets, the toilets were smart toilets with heated seats.

Amazing location right next to the wall, not touristy at all which was perfect. Cozy and peaceful place. 3 very cute fluffy cats and the host was very lovely and helpful!

Enjoyed the breakfast, we also had dinner and that was very tasty. It was a set meal which takes away the challenges of making choices! The whole place was kept spotless by the owner and although English was limited we managed fine using our phones. The bathroom was shared but was also spotless, great powerful shower, all the lotions, creams, extras were available and we loved it! It was out of the way yet a short walk to a lovely village and then to a supermarket. The host was able to organise trips to the wall but we just wanted to rest as we are seniors and had already experienced the wall at Simatai.
