Harbour Beach Club, Hotel & Spa

The room was really nice and a really comfortable bed, gin in the room was a lovely touch. The location is right on the beach with easy access to Salcombe which is a big draw..

First off the spa, it's not very attentive and both me and my wife felt like an afterthought and a burden (although my wife could not fault the actual treatment) Secondly the cost, the room was nice but still a bit steep and personally I think if a room is £330+ then maybe should include a cooked breakfast without paying a supplement. Thirdly, again linked with price, its not that it didnt meet expectation as it is a nice place but for a one night stay costing more than £550 with the add ons. I would expect almost everything to blow me away and it didnt. One issue and this doesn't apply to all staff but both me an my wife commented separately with a feeling we caught some staff on a bad day (again not all staff).

A few things were missing from the menu all weekend ( ribs) so there was only chicken or steak. Mainly I found the background music in the restaurant absolutely moronic. It was very repetitive and very annoying which was a shame as the ambience , staff and food was excellent. Maybe it was our Satnav but the second part of the post code was not recognised so we had great trouble finding the hotel but it was worth it!! We had a lovely weekend.

I would only have one criticism the Hotel should ban smoking on their grounds especially the balconies.

Location is great, Spa is good, rooms are nice
