Prachtige ligging. Mooi uitzicht. Veel ruimte en een leuk terras. Goed contact met personeel.

Op het buitenbankje miste een overtrek. We moesten op onze eigen handdoeken zitten. Personeel vertelde dat het overtrek in de was was. Maar dan verwacht ik hem de volgende dag wel schoon terug om het kussen. De terras stoelen van riet zaten echt niet relaxed de pannen en braadslee waren enorm goor en oud en zelfs kapot. Na mijn bericht is er een set nieuwe pannen gebracht. De braadslee is niet omgeruild. Erg jammer want dit moet je eigenlijk op voorhand al doen. Katjes waren leuk maar vervuilen het tuinmeubilair.

nice quiet place. house is comfortable, very simple Ikea style and with a beautiful terrace. the view is excellent. be careful about the way from the main road, is very sloping and breathtaking

A fantastic, isolated spot. Highly recommended for a couple or small family looking for something remote but very comfortable. My partner and I stayed for 6 nights over the new year period 2021/22 and were met by the rental company on arrival who explained a few things. The photos are accurate, the house is well maintained and thoughtfully supplied with everything we needed (including some basic food like bread/eggs/butter/salt/pepper/oil, and a welcome bottle of wine left for us), and all the kitchen appliances seem quite new. Having a barbeque or a drink on the deck in the afternoon/evening watching the waves was really great. While there are a small number of other houses in Rocha de Baixo, we saw maybe four cars for the entire time and felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. A very special place.

Nothing that would stop us from staying here again, but just as fyi to other potential guests. The wifi is a little slow at around 2.5Mbps, but we were still able to use it for all the usual things. There is no phone reception in the house itself, you just need to walk to the road. A car is of course essential to access Rocha de Baixo, and while the access road is a little steep and narrow, it's completely fine in a normal car. Visiting the supermarket (in Santana) before you arrive is recommended. I am not sure if Rocha de Baixo is usually so quiet or if it's just the winter months. It also has to be said that, as Rocha de Baixo is on the north side of the island, and due to the cliff behind the house, there is actually no direct sunlight on the house in December (however I imagine it is different in other seasons!), but in spite of this there is still lots of light and we still really, really, enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for somewhere peaceful and remote to call your own.
