Hotel Henry Bacalar

Small boutique hotel runned by a very helpfull family. Parking rental car in safe area, a nice swimming pool with jacuzzi. 10 minutes walking from lake and cozy city centre.

Rooms are small and have a bit outdated furniture, but the price is cheap so we won't bother about this. Mexican standard size for beds are much smaller than for Europeans. For me as a 1.95m tall man it was a bit difficult.

The owners & staff are very nice and very helpful. Main parts of town are within a walkable distance. Having breakfast at the pool.

Noisy on our first night but fine for the rest of our stay.

The staff was super friendly. It felt like a home stay. The location was perfect. A short walk to the lake or in to town. Nice pool and private parking was a big plus.

The room could have been a bit more clean and some maintenance could be done. The water pressure in the shower was very low. But overall we had a good stay.

The rooms were fine, the pool was fine, open until 10 p.m. (all lights are turned off after 10 p.m.), and the property was safe and kept locked at all times. Coffee and tea (fruit) were available at all times at the reception desk, and a refrigerator was available for guests' use. The pool area was pleasant, with tables and chairs, armchairs, and loungers. Free bicycles were available. To sum up - the stay was a success, but the impression left by the owner spoils the whole impression of the facility. Pokoje ok, basen ok, czynny do godz. 22 - po 22 gaszone są wszystkie światła, obiekt bezpieczny, cały czas zamkniety. Kawa i herbata (owocowa) dostępne cały czas w recepcji, do dyspozycji gości lodówka. Sympatyczny teren dookoła basenu, stoliki z krzesłlami, fotele i leżaki. Do dyspozycji bezpłatne rowery. Podsumowując - pobyt udany, jednak wrazenie jakie pozostawił właściciel psuje cały odbiór obiektu.

The receptionist, who works after 10 PM, doesn't speak English and is quite difficult to communicate with. The owner is extremely unfriendly, giving the impression that guests are bothering him...
