Wonderful and helpful staff--one could not ask for more in that department. Lovely old rooms which constitute the restaurant/pub, with amazing wood and decor. Unfortunately, the decor choices in the hotel itself are awful. The doors and trim are a dreadful dead brown and the walls a namby-pamby eggshell. This hotel was a fancy brothel, and its current decor just denatures and makes it BO-RING. Shower worked well; room was reasonably quiet.

Decor upstairs; very small and extremely primitive 'fitness center'; no microwave; no green tea available anywhere; breakfast quite basic as well. The best rooms in the place are in the restaurant/pub, which we'd have had to pay to see or experience other than at breakfast (!?!?!?!??!!). Need more end tables beside beds.

Great hotel friendly staff and amazing pub next door and the parking garage was very nice

Location and historical ambience.

Between Booking.com and the property our first night was not available. I made the reservation back in January. We were forced to find an alternative last minute hotel for one night. Hotel staff was somewhat indifferent to our plight and no conciliatory effort was made when we returned for the following two nights. It was sort of a too bad so sad go talk to Booking.com. This was our second time staying at this property. It was exactly the same after five years with more wear and tear evident. Kitchen was poorly stocked. No wine glasses, wine bottle opener or decent coffee cups (two paper cups). Window shade in living area is broken with apologetic note taped next to it saying a new is on order. Note is curled around the edges and has been there awhile. In conclusion, this boutique hotel is not living up to standards I expect for the money. Frankly, we would have been happier to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The final insult was having my hotel key deactivated before I could get my car out of the secure garage.
