Beautiful, clean with fantastic staff

Would have liked a hand towel and shower mat to stop from treading water through the room

The staff were professional and friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. The setting of the place was just lovely with amazing views but close to a good road which made access easy for us. The beds were super comfortable and we slept well. The en-suite was very spacious and clean. There was not a huge choice at breakfast but what we had was delicious and well cooked. Our evening meal was very good too and my husband really enjoyed their own range of craft ales.

We stayed in the Hartcliffe Hill room. The twin single beds were too large for such a small room. There was only about 9" at the side of one bed to get out and I kept knocking myself on the radiator or the wall. It would have been far more sensible to put a 4'6" Double Bed in this room or even just one Single Bed instead. The furniture was very limited due to lack of space and it would have been nice to have a chair in the room. Likewise, the en-suite had very limited storage for toiletries and spare towels. There was though plenty of space at the end of the shower cubicle to accommodate a unit of some kind. We ended up placing all our toiletries in bags on the floor. This was acceptable for just one night but not for any longer. I discovered that the bottom end of duvet and cover on the bed nearest the window were stained by previous guests. As I am partially sighted I did not notice for some time. We did take photographs though. Had I noticed sooner I would have asked for them to be changed. The housekeeping staff need to be more vigilant. The room looked out over the rear of the kitchen and fire escape. It was very noisy from compressors constantly running and staff going out into this yard. We will definitely stay here again provided they can offer a larger, quieter room. In fairness, we did book at short notice so this was the only room available. Hopefully a better stay next time.

It was in a beautiful place with the most stunning view! The bed was so comfy we laid down once we checked in and both fell straight to sleep! Haven’t slept that well in forever!

Not a thing we didn’t like

The location was good and the staff was welcoming. room tiny but cleaned. not sure it was a king bed?. Shower room compact but adequate. No table for the tea tray which was left on the bedside table. Good breakfast.

The mattress was so uncomfortable and need replacing. There was a fan outside out window which was turned off at 10h30 but another engine noise through the night keep me awake. Broken slate on the blind which left the light in early. door slammed until passed midnight (from the kitchen). Duvet too small for the bed and bedding too small for the duvet.
