Location is absolutely perfect, you couldn’t ask for a better view of St. Mark’s Square and it was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. The room was lovely, the finishings, bedding, and even the towels were all superb, it was one of the best places I’ve stayed to be honest!

On the flip side of being an ideal location, it did mean there was a lot of noise at all hours of the day and night. There’s dense crowds during the day, bells from the basilica chiming, etc. so it’s not very peaceful. At night you get loud, intoxicated tourists making a lot of noise. I think it’s just a feature of the location versus being an issue with the hotel management, so just be warned. There were two things that we didn’t really like about the property/staff. First, we were four adults made up of one couple and two other friends. We asked for 3 keycards at check-in but they said they can only provide two. Okay, fine. But, you have to have one inserted into the slot by the entry door for lighting and heating/cooling to work and using another card as a decoy didn’t work so this effectively meant we had one usable key if anyone wanted to remain in the room. Several times we had separate activities planned but had to constantly coordinate schedules or deviate from plans to come back to the property to let someone back in. One member of the couple wasn’t feeling well one day which was extremely inconvenient because they weren’t in a condition to be monitoring for texts or calls to let people in or out so whoever had the only usable key had to constantly be returning to let others in, etc. it sounds so stupid to even mention this because the hotel could have easily keyed two additional cards for us, when paying over US$1,000 per night it doesn’t seem like an unreasonable ask. The second thing that was nearly disastrous was our departure. We asked on the 2nd day (of our 6-day stay) about arranging a water taxi to the airport for our flight home. Reception told us that we should wait until the before check-out and come back before 6pm for them to make the arrangements. We contacted the water taxi company we used upon arrival to see if they could make the arrangements for us and they said it must be done through the hotel.

No easy access to iron clothes. No steam appliance in the room. no ironing board/Iron in the room. No visible sign of the hotel. Took me a while to find it.

An extraordinary location with a view that was hard to beat. The size of the suite was enormous and the quality of fittings was first class, including a sauna (which we did not use, sadly - instructions would have been helpful). The breakfast was beautifully prepared and delivered in a half-hour timeslot of our choosing (towards the end of the slot on two mornings, so we made sure to request an earlier one for departure day to be sure not to rush it). A VERY effective air-conditioning system.

The en-suite for one bedroom was essentially next door to the second bedroom and, therefore, rather inconvenient in a suit of this size. But I guess it was it only way it could be achieved in the design. The ice-box latch was broken and the ice had congealed when we arrived but it was cleaned out on request (the latch remained broken, however).

We had a major flight delay and could not get in touch with staff regarding cancelling a first reservation. Our night at the end of our trip was fine, but I don’t plan to visit Venice again as I feel it is too overrun with tourists.
