Outdoor space: The private pool was great as it was Easter so the communal pool were really busy. Hot tub was used every evening after a day of kayaking/walking etc.Indoors: plenty of room, all bedrooms very spacious and sufficient bathrooms/toilets.

Had a fantastic long weekend at Tischler House enjoying a family birthday. The house was spectacular with a fabulous outlook onto the lake which made each morning a real treat being able to watch the sun come up and observe the beavers, herons and various other wildlife. We stayed in October so the lake was closed to kayaks and canoes which meant it felt very private and peaceful. We were a group of seven and the house provided more than enough space for us all for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The outdoor pool being heated was a real luxury as we were able to enjoy it each day despite the autumn temperatures and the hot tub was also a real treat. Communications with Gillian were very good, always helpful and thorough with the relevant details and local knowledge meaning the whole experience was smooth and easy and we'd have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.The fact none of us wanted to leave speaks volumes! Bright and spacious property in a tranquil environment. Amazing views. Private pool was well kept and heated to a reasonable temperature. We didn’t have any concerns about the cleanliness inside or outside the property. The TV/cinema room is separate from the main lounge, which gives kids their own space. The estate shop - The Ballihoo - has limited stock and is quite expensive. It is mainly a restaurant and place to get coffee. All of the major supermarkets will deliver to the estate, but there isn’t another place close to get last minute essentials. Somerford Lagoon, on which the property is situated, is off limits between 1st October and 31st March in order to maintain the habitat of nesting birds. You cannot use the provided watersports equipment, on this lake, at this time. There are other lakes you can access, as well as a number of walking paths and recreational areas onsite. We have visited a number of different properties on the estate and this is one of the best. It’s a lovely place to stay and I’m sure anyone would enjoy their trip as much as we did.
