Great stay

Very large historic property with plenty of room to gather, near the Delaware canal walking trail.

The host was very attentive to our needs. And the property was extremely lovely. We were very pleased.

Many aspects of this place were wonderful and as advertised: it is old and charming and quirky. It is also huge with great hang out spaces, good AC, comfortable bedrooms, and the pool and grounds are excellent. But there was a strongly unpleasant odor (smelled like sewage or a dead animal) in the main hang out space that persisted throughout our stay and really lowered the quality of our experience. We mentioned this to the owner, who said someone would come see what could be done, but no one did. Also, the place was advertised to have a lake and beach so we brought paddle boards to enjoy that. But the lake was completely drained - it would have been nice to be informed of that ahead of time. We did have a good overall experience and the owner was helpful with other issues that came up. But the smell and lake absence should be addressed at this price point.
