Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed our time here. Cory was very responsive before our arrival and answered all of our questions, which we appreciated.The house isn’t large, but it’s functional and well-stocked with everything needed to cook meals. The sleeping lofts were a hit with the kids, and although the guest bedrooms are small, the beds were very comfortable.The lake was beautiful and we had fun kayaking and fishing. We found some shallow inlets not far from the dock that were great for the kids to explore in shallow clear water ! There are a few things I wish had been clearer in the listing. The property sits on a fairly steep hill down to the dock, which could be challenging for older adults or anyone with mobility issues. The dock lights also didn’t work during our stay, so it wasn’t usable after dark without bringing your own lighting.The biggest surprise was that while there are two bathrooms, only one shower consistently had hot water, making it difficult for a larger group to get ready. Also, the grass appeared overdue for mowing when we arrived and just made the property appear run down/not cared for. First impressions are important so just a note for future guest experience. None of these issues ruined our trip, but knowing them ahead of time would have helped us plan better. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay and think this is a good lake house for families, especially if the listing is updated to better set expectations.

The location is perfect for families, or even an adults only trip. My only regret is that we didn’t get to explore more of the property! The back deck is perfect for watching the sun set over the lake and just relaxing with a book. We have enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Place had everything you’d need. We especially loved the location, playing, fishing and kayaking off the dock.

There are a lot of pros to the "Make A Mistake" cabin, including location (gorgeous and remote), ease of check-in, ease of communication with host when isues arrise (they respond relatively quickly), privacy, kitchen suplies, and outdoor ammenities. This is the perfect rustic bunkhouse situation for a large family or chosen-family gathering if you are looking to be off the beaten path. Cons: The water heater didn't keep up with the needs of the 4 adults in the cabin-- 4 showers per day, one load of dishes. There was no hot water when I tried to bathe or rinse off my baby. We ran out of toilet tissue on day 2 and had to run 40 mins to town to get some as there was a delay in the host's supply delivery (to their credit, the host is not responsible for the delivery delay). We also had a wasp infestation in the main bedroom. We counted at least 8 wasps in the corner of the room, which were dicovered when they stung our 15 month old daughter while she was napping. When we contacted the host about our concerns, they asked if we saw a nest and claimed no one else had mentioned wasp problems. This was the only situation where the host was not helpful at all. We understand things happen, especially in cabins, yes/and if things happen while you visit it's best to keep expectations in check. Be prepared to be self-sufficient.
